Baby Bedding

So, my mother-in-law, Lynn, was kind enough to offer to make the bedding for the baby's room. We got it all set up and it is just perfect.  She is a genius when it comes to putting colors together for quilt patterns.  I just wanted to attach a photo or two so everyone can see how greatit is.

We also bought a glider for her room as well.  Sam really wanted a comfy chair to rock her to sleep in.

Baby Update!!!

So, I am terrible at updating my blog on a regular basis.  Though t I should post some new pictures and give everyone the latest.  Everything has been going great with lil' monkey and I.  She is kicking away and I am enjoying every squirm.  I think she may be related to my friend Colleen since she gets really active when Xmas music plays.  Colleen just loves Xmas music!

Sam actually felt her kick on Saturday morning.  It was such a thrill for both of us.  He thought she was doing gymnastics in there with how active she was.  It was wonderful for me to finally get to share those movements with him.

Other big news is that we painted and set-up the baby's room on Thanksgiving.  It looks fantastic!  It made me feel so good to have that out of the way.  It seems to have inspired Sam to do some every fix-ups around the house as well.  We are now planning on painting the was behind our TV a green color and I would really like to paint the kitchen a nice tan/khaki color.  It might be easier to hide dirty kid marks on a tan wall.

That's all for now, stay tuned for more blogging later.....

It's A ........

GIRL!  Sam and I had the ultrasound yesterday morning and the tech confirmed that we are having a little princess.  We had both kind of hoped for a girl, our main goal being a healthy baby.  We are completely overjoyed and so are the grandparents.  Now we can really start planning the room and all the fun toys.  I am just so excited that I get break out all the toys that my dad made for me.

I had to start wearing maternity clothes about two weeks ago.  Pants were just too tight by the end of the day.  Plus all my shirts started riding up the tiny baby bump that I have.  Got so annoying that I just bit the bullet and switched over.  I made it almost 1/2 way through though. Otherwise feeling pretty good.  My only complaint so far is the pain in my hips, Sam and I are now sleeping in a sea of pillows to accommodate my ever changing body.  Somehow I know it is all worth it.

We went to the doctor on Thursday and so far everything is fine.  Not much thy check for at this appointment.  We did hear the heartbeat again.  That is always so awesome to hear.  He also assured us that the cats can step on my belly without harming the baby.  Since, they never seem to care where they step, it is a relief to know that they aren't doing anything bad.

We also finally heard the baby's heartbeat at home.  My friend, Colleen, loaned us a doppler she had.  We had been trying for a few weeks with no luck.  But that night after the doctor;s visit we got our first listen at home.  That was the best.  It is really nice to share that with Sam since nothing is really happening yet on the outside.

The other exciting news, at least to Sam and I, is that we ordered a storm door for our house.  We have wanted one since we moved in, but didn't have the money.  The door should arrive at Home Depot in a few weeks.

Doxie Dash

Just a quick post about the Daschund Dash that my sister put on last Saturday. It was super fun! Doxies are the cutest dogs and have so much personality.
Here is a pic of the costume contest "Weiners"! Plus I can't forget to put up a pic of my favorite weiner, Scooter.

Starting Out

This is so cool.  I am actually blogging.  I created my blog to track my first pregnancy and all the craziness that is my life.  Hopefully my family and friends will like this.
We went to the doctor on Wednesday.  So far everything is looking good.  Sam and I got to hear the heartbeat, which was so exciting.  It made it feel so real.  Especially since I have been extremely lucky and not had too many bad pregnancy symptoms.  It just felt good to know that there is a little monkey growing inside me.
Wanted to try a photo, here is one of me and Mocha.  He absolutely hates hug therapy.
